In Seoul, South Korea, Dunkin Donuts has been experimenting with guerrilla scent tactics, setting up perfume dispensers in airports and city buses to squirt the scent of coffee into the air, sometimes with synchronized audio tracks of Dunkin Donuts jingle playing overhead.
Dunkin Donuts reported a 29% increase in sales at nearby stores as a result of these “subtle reminders” to commuters.
